Maia is a young cat (born in ) who's had a tough go of it. She was injured and possibly poisoned before she was rescued by a local Community Cats program and brought to Best Friends.
Maia is friendly and loving toward people, and she enjoys being petted on her head and neck. However, because she is still recovering from surgery, she may feel pain and act aggressively if she is picked up or touched on her back or belly.
A bit of a picky eater, it can be a challenge to get Maia to eat her cat food (instead of people food, which she prefers).
